Sales Policy

Updated November 15, 2023

We take pride in our herd and our breeding program and make every effort ensure all the animals on our farm are happy and healthy. Our reputation is also very important to us and as such, we will only sell animals we know to be healthy, productive, and of sound body structure/conformation.

Our goats are guaranteed to be in good health at time they leave our farm. Because we cannot control the goat’s environment once they leave, we cannot offer further guarantees. We are not responsible for any illness related to shipping stress or any illness contracted once they leave our care.

Any disqualifying faults that we are aware of at the time of sale (e.g. conformation defects such as split or “fishtail” teats, etc.) will always be disclosed to the buyer and the animal will be noted as being for a “pet home only” without registration papers.

All sales are on a first-come, first-served basis and final.

We will nothappy to work with beginners! We were beginners not that long ago ourselves, and we are still learning every day! We’re happy to share our favorite resources with you and answer any questions you might have. However, we are not veterinary professionals and our advice should not be taken in place of a visit to your veterinarian.

We reserve the right to retain any kid from any breeding at any time. We also reserve the right to deny a sale to any home we feel might not be ready to take on the full responsibilities of goat ownership.

Prices

Current pricing for spring 2024 kiddings are as follows:

  • ADGA-registered Nigerian Dwarf does and bucks start at $350.
  • Mini LaMancha does start at $250.
  • All wethers (castrated males) are $150.

Future pricing may change based on show results, linear appraisals, DHIR milk testing results, and increased feed/veterinary costs related to births and raising kids.

We are members of the ADGA and most of our stock is registered, unless otherwise noted. Registration or transfer costs are not included in the advertised price of the goat. If you have any questions about this, please let us know prior to pick up.

Kid Waiting List/Reservations

We typically publish our breeding plans in the fall on our website. If you would like to be notified when kids come available, you may submit the webform at https://sundazefarm.com/waiting-list/ to join our waiting list. There is no fee or obligation to be placed on this list.

Once the kids are born, we will contact those on the waiting list in order of form submission. You will be given 24 hours to confirm and make a $50.00 non-refundable deposit.* Please see the Payment and Pickup section below for a list of payment types accepted. If you choose to pass on the animal OR if we do not receive a response within 24 hours, we will move to the next person on the waiting list.

If we make it through our entire waiting list in a given year and there are kids still available, we post them to our website, our email list, and our social media pages.

Purchasing a Kid from Sundaze Farm

All kids will be disbudded (unless polled). We do not sell goats with intact horns. Sometimes (particularly on bucks and wethers) scurs do occur and we cannot guarantee against this.

All kids will receive identification tattoos before leaving our farm. LaManchas and Mini-LaManchas with gopher or elf ears will be tattooed in the tail webbing. All other breeds will be tattooed inside their ears.

Kids will be up to date with all vaccinations and supplements appropriate up to the age when they leave our farm. This typically means two doses of CD&T, a dose of Selenium/Vitamin-E gel or Bo-Se, and dewormer (as needed). You will receive documentation of the dates vaccines were administered.

If you have questions about vaccines, deworming, etc., please ask.

Kids are introduced to hay, water, and a medicated pellet feed (for coccidiosis prevention) before leaving our farm.

We do not typically sell bottle babies but may make them available on a case-by-case basis to experienced homes only. If we make a bottle baby available, we will not let them leave our farm until we are confident they are drinking from a bottle successfully and thriving.

Bucklings must be reserved and non-refundable deposit paid prior to 10 weeks of age. If not reserved, they will be castrated/banded and sold as wethers unless otherwise noted. We do not castrate/band goats prior to 10 weeks of age.

Payment and Pick Up

We accept via PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or cash. No other payment methods are accepted. If you are using PayPal, please use the “friends and family” option; if using a credit card via PayPal, please add 2.9% + $0.30 to cover their fees.

All goats purchased must be paid in full prior to leaving our farm. Deposits on kids or adult goats are non-refundable.* We do this to ensure that people reserving our goats are serious about giving them a good home. You are welcome to get on our reservation list for a kid with no obligation, but if you wish us to hold a specific goat for you, you will need to make a deposit.

At this time, we do not ship our animals via airline transportation. Ground transportation can be arranged on a case-by-case basis and is the financial responsibility of the buyer.

Questions?

We are always happy to answer questions! Feel free to contact us.

*The only instance in which we will refund a deposit is if the goat should die or become seriously ill while still on our farm and under our care. Should this occur, you will have the option to move your deposit to another goat that we have for sale, or receive a refund in full.
